Joint Operations Center (JOC)

What is the Joint Operations Center?

The Joint Operations Center, or JOC as it is commonly known, is operated by multiple highly trained volunteer Operation Support Associates virtually around the clock in an effort to maintain operational readiness 24/7 to carry out tasks like: Hazard Mitigation, Incident Monitoring, Hazard Watch, Weather Reporting, Public Information, Partner Information Sharing, Situation Reporting, Situational Awareness, Mapping and much more.


What does the Joint Operations Center do?

The JOC monitors future and current local, state, and federal emergencies, threats, hazards, and incidents to ensure that Clay County CERT is able to respond to an incident, emergency, threat, or hazard that impacts the community of Clay County 24/7. Upon observing a potential threat the OSC uses a tiered level of operations model to effectively respond and mobilize resources. The OSC takes weather reports, collects information, conducts damage assessments, provides recovery services, planning and preparedness implementation, mitigation services, asset distribution, and much more to aid the organization of Clay County CERT and its local, state, and federal partners as well as the community of Clay County.
